We've been passionate about wine for a long time, and over the years we've enjoyed a wide range of wine styles. We could spend hours (or paragraphs) talking about the intricacies of winemaking. But in the end, we have one simple belief: the winemakers job is to coach the wine to make itself. There's nothing magical about what happens in the cellar. If it isn't in the grape when it is picked, it's not going to be in the wine. To be sure, there are infinate paths for the wine to take. But with a few careful nudges here and there, wine has an amazing way of expressing itself. 2006 chenin blanc
This is our debut release, and of course, where it all started. Chenin's been wanting to make this wine since she was a little girl. We sourced fruit from the Horse Heaven Hills in Washington and brought them down here to our winery here in Dundee. We separated the fruit in to three different lots, and cold fermented them with three different yeasts. One of the lots was fermented in 5 year old, neutral oak barrels, and the other two in stainless steel tanks. We think we've captured a fantastic expression of this under-utilized grape. 2006 rose of pinot noir
Pinot is all the rage now, and we just couldn't bring ourselves to join the crowd. Or at least that was our intent. In one of those epiphany moments, we realized that a Pinot Noir Rose was right up our alley. The delicate fruit of pinot is perfect for this crisp, refreshing summer wine. |
